If you prefer to walk around historical Old San Juan, have an ample selection of walking-distance restaurants and shops, you should stay in Old San Juan. If, instead, you prefer to enjoy the beach on your free time, and also have walking-distance restaurants, you should stay in Condado. Both of these areas are in the city of San Juan.
